TWO MONTHS OLD!

Dear Phoebe, Yesterday was your two month birthday!  We successfully survived the holidays and are looking forward to the weather getting a little warmer so we can be more adventurous outside of the house...still have a long way to go!

Twinkies?

Dear Zoe & Phoebe - Some people say the two of you look a lot alike.  Others say you look different.  Here are pics of each of you taken at approx the same age- I think you guys are pretty similar!  Such pretty ladies.

7 hours!

Dear Phoebe-

After putting you down last night at 8pm, we didn't hear from you again until almost 3am!  That's 7 hours peanut!  Mama and Daddy thank you VERY much for that.  Lets try for two nights in a row?

I go Potty

Dear Zoe,

Over New Years, Dad and I decided it was time to get you potty trained.  You were showing interest, can definitely communicate when you have to go and frankly, now that Phoebe is here, I was sick of changing diapers.  So we thought we'd try and see if you were into it.  We did the three day, stay in the house, no diapers method and it worked!  Days 1 and 2 were rough, you had lots of accidents and we were discouraged.  But by Day 3 something clicked and you have been doing great ever since!  Sure, you've had a few accidents along the way, but you've been going out and about to school and out to dinner in your big girl underwear!  We are SO proud of you!  You insist on wearing certain underwear on certain days (no big surprise there), so I am doing a lot of washing and may have to run out to Target to get some backups, but whatever it takes.

Now we just need to kick the paci habit...

Stats for 1 month Phoebe (really 6 weeks)

Dear Pheebs-

Yesterday we went to your doctor for your one month appointment.  You came in at 11 lbs 7 oz (90% percentile) and 22 3/4 inches (90% percentile) with a head circumference of 15.5" (90% percentile).   Perfect.  I like my babies chubby.

You are still eating every 3 hours or so.  We have been putting you down for bed (still in our room) around 9:30 each night- swaddled and fed.  At 6.5 weeks, the longest stretch (at night) has been 4 hours.  Totally normal, but we wouldn't mind just a bit more.  You are responding to our voices, smiling and cooing.  You have the crooked side smile just like your big sis did when she was a baby.  So adorable.

You love the swing.  Your longest stretch of sleep (during the day) has been almost 5 hours!  In the swing.  We are still trying to get your day and night confusion fixed (light = day, dark = night).

Your favorite "hold" is the sack of potatoes over the shoulder hold.  Probably feels good on your belly. You like to see what is going on around you.  You are super alert and a champ at holding up your head.

You are getting bigger each day and we just love you.

I YUV CHRISSMAS!!

Dear Zoe & Phoebe-

Merry Christmas!  Last week was the most wonderful time of the year.  We kicked off the weekend by visiting the man himself, SANTA CLAUS!  Zoe, you were SO excited- every time we talk about Santa, you tell us that he says "HohohoMerryCissmas!" (all one word).  You know that he brings presents and he comes down the chimney.  We weren't too sure if you would be scared to see him, but we waited in line and you were such a good girl.  By the time it was our turn, you were a little nervous, but so brave!  You told Santa you wanted Dora and a toothbrush.  Phoebe- you are not going to remember this at all, in fact you slept the whole time, but you were a good girl too!  This may be one of my all time Christmas pictures-

On Christmas Eve, D and Gaga and Nanu came over.  We opened just one present (Minnie Christmas Jammies!) which you both looked adorable in.  Thanks Gaga!

Daddy and his girls

The next morning, SANTA came!!  And he did not disappoint.  There were SO. MANY. PRESENTS.  Looks like you two were very good girls this year.  Zoe- you had a little bit of a hard time accepting that all the presents weren't for you (even though most of them were) but you did your best.

Gaga and Nanu came over later in the day after naps (D stayed the night) and we had even MORE presents.  Daddy made a delicious dinner for all of us.  Zoe- by the end of the night, you got it.  You were hamming it up (with some prompting from mom) saying "I YUV CHISSMAS!" and "DANK YOU GAGA AND NANU!"  You were riding your new Dora bike around the house and playing with your Minnie and Mickey house from Gaga.  It was a great night.

The next morning, the first thing you said was "More Presents?  I a good girl!"  Yes, you are my sweet girl, but we have 364 more days until we do this again.
